Steven’s Steak House - 1st Annual Professional Salsa Competition

The west coast loves to battle with its salsa competitions. Steven’s Steakhouse near Los Angeles held its amateur competition several months ago, and last week held the finals of its professional competition. With some $10,000 in prize money, several high profile dancers including past Mayan, Puerto Rico Open, and World Salsa Champions.  Brownskin818 on Salsaforums.com has posted a thread about the competition, including commentary from one of the judges (Salsa Brava original member Janette Valenzuela).    FINAL RESULTS (Feb 6, 2009)          

•  1st place: Cristian & Liz with 162 points
• 2nd place: Jose & Stephanie with 153.5 points
• 3rd place: Abel & Zulmara with 150 points
• David & Charlene received 141.5 points
• Luis & Shirley received 140 points
