Flava Invasion 4 in Atlanta - April 24-26

Coming to Atlanta on April 24-26 is the fourth iteration of Flava Invasion.  Half salsa congress, half concert, half amazing (the fractions don’t add up, but I couldn’t help it :=), Flava is the event to attend this Spring.  In past events, promoter Gordon Neil has invited world class performers such as Tropical Gem, Juan Matos and Fogarate Dancers, and Leon Rose.  This year’s cast features artists such as Tito and Tamara from Puerto Rico, Hacha y Machete and Masacote from Boston, Urban Vibe from Chicago, and Big Spenders from France.

Below is a short excerpt from a review of Flava Invasion 2 from Chimere Cross on Marques Gunter’s SalsaIndy.com blog.

“My best time had to be at the Sanctuary, sunday night (the official after party). All of the talents were in one small place and were willing to dance with anyone who asked. It was hot and sweaty salsa all night long. I had to stop dancing for a while to catch my breathe, but it didn’t take me too long to get back up. Great songs played one after the other. All of the talents that attended the party put on a lil show for us”.

“For the Saturday concert, Fania All Star Larry Harlow, Joel “Masacote” Massicot, and Orquesta Macuba played a blistering set. Add to this dancing that was easily on the level of a congress, and you can see why I am giving this event such a good review. As always, I took a few photos to share. I hope you enjoy them. ”
