How Philly Moves - Photography and Mural Arts Project

Posted on April 7th, 2011 by Allan Tabilas

Nuevotec was on hand for the final community paint day in March for the How Philly Moves project. Lead photographer and designer Jacques-Jean “JJ” Tiziou and lead muralist Jon Laidacker with Philadelphia Mural Arts executive director Jane Golden talk about their roles in the project in the videos below, where 26 dancers (photographed by JJ Tiziou) will be painted and displayed (by Jon Laidacker and his team of muralists including Tjai Abdullah, Efrain Herrera, Charles Newman, Laura Velez, and Tom Walton) on the parking decks of the Philadelphia International Airtport. Local Philadelphia based salsa dancer Darlin Garcia was chosen among the final 26 dancers. In addition, there will be a permanent exhibit in the airport of the many other dancers shot by JJ as well.
