Posted on March 26th, 2008 by Allan Tabilas
For professional salsa dancers, you have competitions like the World Salsa Championships, the World Salsa Federation, the Puerto Rico Open, and the Mayan World Championships (pro division). So where are the amateurs dancers supposed to compete?
In the Philadelphia, South Jersey, and Delaware area, Luvsalsa is holding the first annual Amateur Salsa Dance Competition and Party on Saturday, March 29. Amateur couples are invited to perform a 1:30 choreographed routine, for a $500 prize ($25 registration fee). Judges include 2007 World Salsa Championships Cabaret Top 10 Finalist Jose Serrano and Charlotte Serrano. Teaching a salsa lesson is 2006 Cabaret WSC 5th place dancer Victor Colon.
Are you game? We’ll see you there!
